Event Details
Learn basic survival skills needed to care for a child with diabetes.
· Basic pathophysiology
· Checking blood sugars
· Administering injections
· Counting carbs
· Calculating insulin doses
· Treating hypoglycemia
· Handling sick days
This class is designed for (but not limited to): caregivers, babysitters, grandparents, foster and adoptive families, older siblings, and children who were diagnosed at a young age and beginning to manage more of their own care. School nurses are also welcome to attend.
This class is held in-person at St. Louis Children's Hospital. You will receive an email with classroom location and other details one week before the class, and on the day before so please be sure to check your email!
