Grandel Theater
Theater
Description
This church building now serves as a tourist attraction, theater and historic landmark. Built in 1884, and now the Grandel Theater, the building has been largely preserved, reflecting the original design by architect Lewis Rice. It features a series of plays, through June of each year, written by African-American playwrights. The architecture is grand, as exemplified by the 20 feet glass window in the second floor ballroom. The 470-seat theater is open for reservations by groups, organizations and businesses. Frequently Asked Questions
